Former president Jacob Zuma should return to jail to finish his jail time period for contempt of an apex courtroom order, the appeals courtroom has discovered.

In a call written by Decide Tati Makgoka, the SCA burdened that the impact of its order that Zuma had unlawfully been granted medical parole was that “Mr Zuma, in regulation, has not completed serving his sentence”.
“He should return to the [Estcourt] Correctional Centre to take action. Whether or not the time spent by Mr Zuma on unlawfully granted medical parole needs to be taken into consideration in figuring out the remaining interval of his incarceration, just isn’t a matter for this courtroom to determine,” News24 quoted the courtroom as saying.
“It’s a matter to be thought-about by the commissioner. If he’s empowered by regulation to take action, the commissioner may take that interval into consideration in figuring out any software or grounds for launch.“
Zuma was granted medical parole after he was hospitalised days after he handed himself in, in July 2021 after the Constitutional Courtroom discovered him responsible for contempt of courtroom and was to serve 15 months in jail.
