Soccer legend Mark Fish took to social media on Tuesday, 7 February to pay tribute to his Bafana Bafana co-stars John Moeti, Sizwe Motaung, Phil Masinga, and John ‘Footwear’ Moshoeu.

MARK FISH: ‘REST WELL MY BROTHERS’
The legendary Bafana Bafana soccer star Mark Fish shared an image of John Moeti, Phil Masinga, John ‘Footwear’ Moshoeu, and Sizwe Motaung who handed away.
Fish honoured the 4 soccer stars after former Orlando Pirates midfielder John Moeti died this Monday, 6 February at 55 years. News24 reveals Moeti died on Monday after “receiving specialist medical care” for a number of months.
His household confirmed the previous SuperSport United star’s passing in an announcement launched to City Press:
“It’s with profound unhappiness and a deep sense of loss that we inform you of the passing of John ‘Dungi’ Moeti.”
“John immediately took ailing eight months in the past and was receiving specialist medical care. John succumbed to his sickness within the early hours of this morning (6 February) at house, surrounded by his household and brethren in prayer.
“We thanks sincerely in your prayers and steadfast help. The household needs to be afforded privateness throughout this time of loss, and funeral particulars shall be suggested sooner or later, ” the assertion learn.

Bafana Bafana soccer legends John Moeti, Mark Fish, Sizwe Motaung, Phil Masinga, and John ‘Footwear’ Moshoeu have been all a part of Clive Barker’s triumphant squad that received the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana’s vice-captain Sizwe Motaung died in August 2001 at 31 years. News24 reported that it was understood Motaung could have died from AIDS.
A member of the medical group that handled Motaung at Legae non-public clinic instructed the Sunday Solar anonymously, that the soccer star succumbed to an AIDS-related illness.
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder John ‘Footwear’ Moshoeu died on the age of 49 after a protracted battle with most cancers. EWN reported in April 2015 that his agent, Glyn Binkin confirmed the soccer star handed away within the afternoon.
“It’s a tragic day for South African and African soccer. He has been sick and in a means, he’s now not struggling.”
North West soccer legend Phil Masinga handed away in January 2019 at 49 from most cancers. In accordance with the Guardian, Masinga starred as a striker for Jomo Cosmos and Mamelodi Sundowns earlier than becoming a member of Elland Street.“Having made his worldwide debut in Bafana Bafana’s historic inaugural match in 1992, Masinga turned the primary black South African participant to play within the Premier League,” reviews the publication.
