New tech to boost mine employees’ security

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Analysis’s (CSIR) has unveiled Digital Actuality coaching know-how aimed toward enhancing the protection of mine employees by means of data coaching on hazardous underground incidents.

The know-how is being showcased on the Mining Indaba in Cape City.

The CSIR says the know-how supplies mining trainees with simulated, immersive and experiential coaching on learn how to adequately reply to near-real emergency conditions, comparable to underground fires and explosion.

The Council’s Govt Supervisor for Future Manufacturing in Mining, Sibongile Ntsoelengoe says, “On the forefront of our mission is the prioritisation of zero hurt applied sciences and partnering with the mining trade. We purpose to ship people-centered options that prioritise the protection of employees in mining environments.”
